2026 FIA Karting Asia-Pacific Championship to be held this weekend
MACAU, September 10 - The 2026 FIA Karting Asia-Pacific Championship, organized by the Sports Bureau and the Automobile General Association Macao-China, will be held from September 11 to 13 at the Coloane Karting Track.
Drivers from 16 countries and regions are participating in the 2026 FIA Karting Asia-Pacific Championship. The event features the junior and senior categories, with drivers competing in an “Arrive and Drive” format. All drivers will use engines, chassis, and tires of the same model and specification. The initial distribution of engines and chassis will be determined by a ballot, and engines will be swapped among competitors throughout the event to ensure a level playing field.
The Asia-Pacific Championship is one of three continental “Arrive and Drive” championships held this year. The top finishers of this event will qualify for the FIA Karting “Arrive and Drive” World Cup to be held in Malaysia in November.
Free practice will be held first on September 11, followed by sprint races on September 12. Qualifying heats will take place on the afternoon of September 12 and on September 13. The Junior and Senior finals will be held at 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. respectively on September 13. Admission is free for residents and tourists, who can attend and experience the excitement of motorsports.
