Portraying Macao as a fascinating destination with diverse experiences to offer, the project leverages Ahn’s positive profile and influence to captivate young travelers in Korea and expand international markets.
Spotlight Macao’s “tourism +” from “boyfriend’s angle”
In line with young Koreans’ growing devotion to sports and fitness in recent years, MGTO planned the initiative and invited Ahn Bo-hyun — a sporty and sunny personality — to Macao for filming of the promotional video. Through warm, natural storytelling from a “boyfriend’s angle”, the video presents the colorful experiences Macao has to offer, from cultural tapestry and culinary delights to tranquil nature, spectacular events and distinctive communities for in-depth exploration. Audiences are led to explore the kaleidoscope of “tourism +” from perspectives woven with everyday life, to engage and resonate more deeply with young travelers in Korea.
Video depicts Macao’s vibrancy and glamour day and night
The project marks Ahn’s first visit to Macao and his debut in the city’s promotion. In the video, the Korean star enjoys a stroll along the Hac Sá Long Chao Kok Coastal Trail in Coloane, followed by a walk at the Taipa Houses and tasting of the authentic Macanese cuisine — an enchanting encounter with Macao’s dining scene and its glamour as a cultural crossroads between the East and West. He also rides the shuttle of the “Tourism and ‘Leisure’ Buses”, setting off from the Ruins of St. Paul’s to explore hidden gems in local communities. At night, he beholds the dazzling fireworks of the 34th Macao International Fireworks Display Contest up close, immersed in the romantic atmosphere and splendor of the event.
